He holds a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast, and a Ph.D. in Soil Science from the University of Reading, U.K.
He was a graduate teacher of Agricultural Science and Biology at the Koforidua Secondary/Technical School before joining the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) as an Assistant Research Scientist.
He rose through the ranks and was appointed the Head of CRIG Sub-Station, Bunso before becoming the Head of Soil Science Division.
He served as the National Co-ordinator of the Cocoa Hitech Programme, COCOBOD. He was a Chief Research Scientist and a Deputy Executive Director of the Seed Production Division of Ghana Cocoa Board.
He also served as a Treasurer of the Promoters Committee of the Adonten Community Bank Ltd. during the Bank’s formative years.
He is a member of several Academic Associations and serves on the Board of the W.B.M. A.M.E. Zion Senior High School, Old Tafo, Akyem. He is a Lay Representative on the General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
